1970 Lotus Elan S4
£25,000
44,000 miles
Location SE Kent
A beautiful example of this classic Lotus, lovingly rebuilt by my late father, Bruce Yule.
He was passionate about this car and devoted a huge amount of time and care to bringing it back to its best. His work and progress are all documented on the forum, showing the depth of attention it received.
Recent work includes:
Rebuilt gearbox
New wiring loom
New fuel pump
New interior
This car meant a great deal to him, so it’s important that it goes to an enthusiast who will appreciate and enjoy it as much as he did.
A well-sorted, well-loved classic, ready for its next chapter.
Any questions please ask

As I’ve mentioned to a few dealers now, I really do think it’s more important that it goes to someone who will love the car rather than someone looking to make money. We are open to offers if it means it goes to the right home.
I have a google drive with more images if of interest.
Hi Joey,
I think I should mention, and others have possibly noticed, that there’s something not quite right about your father’s car. For a 1970 S4 it has the engine cam cover, dashboard, dash top, door handles and latches from an earlier S3 car (circa 1967). It is a really nice car, and a credit to your father, but be prepared to haggle if potential buyers pick up on these anomalies.
Good luck.
Mike
Thanks Mike. I believe the previous owner (who i imagine is on this Forum) said:
“I always thought it was probably raced in the first couple of years between 1968 and registration in 1970”. Perhaps this explains why?

Apologies to hijack you add .
I too have a 1970 / 71 FHC with exactly the same earlier body types ie , rear quarter air flow vents , early door handles , S3 dash / crash pad etc
Were Lotus using up old shells ??

Hi, is this car still available, I’m very interested as I’ve been longing to buy a car just like this for a while now. How do I get in contact with the seller?
i’ve just joined the forum but have no idea how to direct message somebody or give somebody my details!
Is there a way I can direct message the seller or vice versa?
if it’s advertised elsewhere maybe send a link there as this website isnt the best!!!
edited to add: I’ve now been through the new membership process so I can contact the seller directly.
