New member and am looking to buy a later +2 130 4 speed. Back in my 20`s i owned a series 3 convertible, reg NME 5E, the same colour as Miss Peels. The colour was badly faded and i had it resprayed in polychromatic chrome yellow which was a VW colour and flared the arches. A few years later i bought a damaged 69 +2 and replaced the mid front section, threw away the Strombergs and fitted a Weber head. A friend who used to be a paint sprayer and i painted it black. I payed £675 for the series 3, sold it for £725 in 1973, the plus 2 i swopped for 3 cars and £150 in 1978 at a small local dealers.
