Rain, Rain rain in the UK. Topical one!
Went to Jim Clark run in April in the rain. Don’t think it stopped much since back then. Swore I would fit an auto control.
Elan S4
Just fitted an intermittent wiper control kit from the Maplin’s book. Had to solder it all together. Was about a tenner with P & P. It is quite big. I did not want to damage my dash so put it in a poly’ carb box on a flex (piece of 7 core trailer socket lead) in the glove box and fed it through that rear grommet. Just wired it in, seems fine. On/off S/w and three positions. Approx’ 15, 10 & 5 seconds. I learned something too. Did not know that a short is fitted across the motor at park to help brake! This kit has the two relays. One to power, and one to open the short loop. Really good instructions on how to fit.
I do like to use my car. Don’t head out in the rain, but you do tend to get caught.
Should be good. No more flicking.
If anyone is interested I will post the cat no and some of the bits to fit.
Or,if you want I’ll dig out my diagram for fitting an inter wiper relay(pinched from any semi-modern car) straight onto the wiper motor with only a remote switch to fit near the dash?
product is K2599 or stock no VE03. Intermittent wiper control.

perhaps other way is easier. I had to break into the harness in a couple of places near the motor. no bother used bullets etc. All will remove and just leave a few through singles.
John, has it got adjustable control or fixed time?
Connect the four wires to existing wiper motor wiring (picking up battery and earth, and feed a PULSE input battery to L to start intermittent wipe,a second PULSED battery input stops intermittent wipe…
