Has everyone carried out this “mod”? Does the bag really not trap any moisture?
Or is there a better way? e.g. re-assemble motor with suitable sealant.
(Mine didn’t really object to being wet…until it froze 
)

I replaced the rather moth eaten bags that were fitted to my S4’s motors when I rebuilt the car.
The best method of protecting the motors IMHO

Me too… Replaced the remains with good quality new poly bags. Cable entry up through the bottom corner. Had a look a while ago now and all looked quite ok.
So far so good, & I agree with John, best way to protect the motors. IMHO.
I put a small bag of Silica Gel into each of the bags too. Don’t think it does much good though.
