Some LOG44 Pics

Greg Z, Phil Harrison, and myself at the concours.

With Ray of RD Enterprises.

The Elan row, from one end…

And from the other. I counted 14. One of the Elan’s won “Best in Show”, pretty sure it was the green #26 at the left. We got outnumbered by the Emira’s though - there were at least 21 of them.

More Elans

And more..

How about a Europa…

Actually….. Andrew Laing, maker of the beautiful plaque, is on the left . He was most intrigued that my car was originally sold in Scotland .

Fun weekend, and some really super Elans

Thanks! So the “Best in Show” was the 2nd from the left in the pic? Yours?

Wow, congratulations! Can you share more pictures of your car, and the placque when you get it?

Yes, my car is second from left in the pic. The plaque is really nice, and the helmet pin is removable, should you get the sudden urge to put it on.

Dave Minter, who gave the dinner talk, chose my car as the winner. I was able to chat with him yesterday at breakfast, great guy.

I took only one pic of my own car at the event, and it is quite poor, perhaps others can fill in that blank.

My friend Paul, who is now 92, purchased a basket case S2 more than 35 years ago. For various reasons, he was never able to get it to the finish line. He always wanted to bring it to a LOG, and with the help of Paul Jr, he was able to do that this weekend. Very fulfilling. :slightly_smiling_face: Both Pauls are pictured.

Congrats to Mike for getting best in show, that’s a major accomplishment with so many beautiful cars there.

Here are some of my Elan pictures:

That’s Steve Lyles Sprint & Bob (Nisonger’s ??) S4 Se

All of the Elans lined up at the track:

Us crashing an American car show on the way to the track (!!)

“What are those funny little cars…”

& for those of you that haven’t seen an American LOG meeting here are most of the cars in the parking lot (sorry car park) Sunday morning as I left:

An event not to be missed if you’re in the USA or Canada.

Safe drive home.

Well done! That’s a great achievement!

What a difference from last year!!!
Last year we had about 3 or 4 Elans, a Plus2, a Europa and that was about it for the ‘Classic Lotus’!
My Elan was feeling a bit overwhelmed by all of the Elises, Exiges and Emiras in Marble Falls.

Wish I could have made the trip up to PA this year….oh well.

A kind member did send me a shot from the parade laps

The LOG organizers had a professional photographer wandering around at LOG - he took lots of pics all weekend. He was pretty much everywhere, all the time, so you tended to ignore him.

He got this pic of me likely putting something back in the glove box at the Concours. I just love the angle of this shot of the car, especially the reflections on the drivers door. Not so much the fit of the right headlight pod - maybe accentuated by the pivot bolt that was about to fully back out!

And here’s the drone shot of the Concours field:

Many thanks to Alan for taking such amazing photos throughout the weekend and for organizing and hosting the photos on his website.
