Hi everyone, I’ve just taken delivery of my first 1973 Plus 2 130/5 JPS. I’ve got a problem with the driving position. When engaging the clutch the top of my thigh makes contact with the underside of the steering wheel. I’ve pulled the seat out in the hope of removing spacers allowing the seat height to drop. Unfortunately there are none. I’m only 6ft and I can’t work out what the heck is the problem. I’d really like to keep the original wheel. Any advice gratefully appreciated. Thanks, Scott
They’re not built for tall people. I’m only 5’ 9" and i have the seat all the way back. I think maybe you could make some sort of adapter plates to mount the seat rails further back in the car, that’s about all I can think of. I’m sure some other tall (normal??) folks can tell you what they’ve done to address this.
Hi Scott, where the seat pivots at the front of the frame there are three levels where you can adjust the rake of the front of the seat ,should give you an inch or so,
