Hi, Does anyone have a source or have an extra Dash Top (crash pad) for an S1 Elan? I am in need of one (or 2) for my S1 Elan projects. The usual suppliers (RD, DB, SJ, Classic Lotus, Sue Miller and Kelvedon) are out. I see that Tony Thompson shows that they have them but I think they are made out of fiberglass and I would prefer the ABS plastic. Thanks!

I also require a dash top for my S1 Elan but not the fibreglass reproduction type .
I’m aware that some years ago there was an S1 owners club / owners group who reproduced these items but all this stock was sold a number of years ago.
Does anyone know where the S1 club / owners group had these items made ?
If there was enough interest in people wanting the dash tops could ‘we’ put an order in ?
I looked into the same subject last year. I managed to track down the company that made the moulds but they don’t know where they ended up. I also spoke to CTL and they have the original moulds but they’re too old and delicate to be used. There was also some mention that the old manufacturing method would no longer be acceptable. The batch that were made by members of the 26R register seem to be long gone (+I don’t know the quality).
Recently Dave Bean in the States mentioned he might be tempted to get a batch made by a company in California - maybe if there were some sort of list of interested people (and location) it would be helpful also a more attractive price for production and shipping could be negotiated too?
