However car builder solutions have similar on their site
I do agree, but I have managed to chose a switch type that turns on only just above the normal running temp which reduces that "temp gauge obsession " a little.

もうアイデアが尽きかけている。
推奨通りに6RAリレーを取り付け、スイッチの2本の線をつなぐことで配線をテストし、リレーがカチッと作動してファンが順調に回り始めた。
新しいファンスイッチを取り付けて接続したところ、エンジンを回し上げたとき計器には85と表示されたが、まだオンにならない!!!
もう一度回してみるつもりだが、スイッチにマルチメーターを接続して、開点温度で何か表示が出るか確認してみる……
もしかすると見落としがあるかもしれませんが、エンジン温度計をどの程度信用していますか？他のすべてはテスト済みのようですが、温度計が85°Cに達したときに正確な値を示していることを証明しましたか？

いい判断だった。40PSIGで測定した油圧（OP）に対して表示が10PSIG高く、沸騰水の水温は華氏15度高く表示されていた、油圧・水温の複合ゲージを使っていました。ニソンガーのところへ戻ると、ポールはそれは珍しくないと助言してくれた……

I had a period a while back where I was worried about the temperature of the rover V8 engine in my triumph stag. Notorious for overheating. I didn’t trust the 50 yo sensor so used one of these for a while to get a correlation. Cheap as chips. I was able to place the sensor very close to the water system and watch the temp change real time with good resolution. It was quite instructive to see how it changed under different running conditions and how the fan influenced temp. It also showed that the sensor was around 10 degrees out.
