ideas what please
That’s the bracket for the seat belt shoulder anchor. It should line up with a hole in the body facing towards the front.
The lotocone sits below it and the bolts go through the lotocone and it to the chassis. There is a threaded insert that screws into the front with a square head and bolt hole in its side. This sticks through the hole in body and the seat belt bolt screws into it. Simple really ![]()

Yours looks a bit banged up. Still available new (from SJ I think) for a reasonable price.
Andy.
I was curious because my plus 2 s130 with front inertia seatbelts has an entirely different seatbelt mounting: two steel plates sandwiching the fibreglass at the top of the rear inner wing, so I Googled and found the lotocone attached bracket described as “Seat Belt Mount Static, Part Number X036B0398Z” and that it fits the Elan and plus2 . In the case of the plus2, did early models have static seatbelts or is the lotocone bracket used for rear seatbelts, which my car doesn’t have..?
Tony
Perhaps worth noting that SJSportscars sell two versions of this bracket to suit the slight difference in bodywork on the S3 and S4.
S3: A036B0398Z
S4: X036B0398Z

This is the seatbelt attachment bolt that Rohan has referred to. The spacer washer is at the point where the bolt goes through the body and provides a circular surface for a large grommet in the body hole to seal against. This is for attaching a static belt; inertia belt attachment might differ.
Mike
confused me, the plate with the arm which sits between cone & chassis holds this square head & seatbelt anchor which goes through hole in body for shoulder belt.
So the plate with the arm is for? As it doesn’t seem worn/used (other than the obvious unnatural curve) there appears to be no wear.
Stresscraxx (post #2 ) has your answer. Your’s has a major bend in it where it bolts to the
turret. Should be flat.
So it anchors through the long tube @ end of plate
Or via threaded square head
Or both
Or i am missing something, come-on brain…work…
Here’s a picture of it on my S3 and the corresponding hole in the body. I have the Spyder 3 point
belt conversion,
hence, you don’t see the piece that Smo17003 shows.
There’s more here Elan Sprint/S4 seatbelt position. - #13 by pharriso
going for 2nd coffee real pronto like
but, what’s new. confused me. As I see two options
1, threaded square head S3-4 3-pint seatbelt (or harness?) though the hole is in a different location.
2, Spyder 3-point harness that attaches between chassis turret and lotocone.
Tony,
It’s totally different on +2S130. Like you say the seat belt top mount is a two part sandwich in the upper wheel arch.
Alan.
