This was included with the car, but I haven’t used it and do not intend to use it. Rather than continuing to trip over it, I am wondering roughly what they are worth and if anyone is interested in purchasing it. Located in Los Angeles 90045, but I can ship.
It looks like an original Metalifacture jack. My own view is that you would have to be a brave man to use one, but someone might want to have one to keep things original. Remarkably, Metalifacture are still going. In period they made similar jacks for a good portion of the UK car industry. Generally the same design, with a model specific bit at the end where it mated with the car. E-Types used a very similar jack.
A Lotus Elan variant sold at the end of October for £291 in the UK on eBay, and E-Type specific versions go for £450 if that helps.
I would add the ‘flat’ adaptor plate version of the Metalofacture jack as pictured, is for the (baby) Elan. The one for the Plus 2 has a pin on the adaptor plate that fits into a mounting bush in the metal sill reinforcement.
I use my one on an Elan S3 all the time without problems. Once up, I usually support the car with some secondary support if doing any work under the car.
