hi all,
i wonder if anyone has a photo to show the position of the webbing straps to locate the jack in the boot.
i have the original straps for my +2s130 but i don’t no where to attach them. please only polite replies accepted

AlanB, hopefully my reply qualifies as polite because I don’t have a photo.
I removed them several years ago because the webbing had rotted away and the metal was rusty. The inner rear mudguard, right hand side, up beside the battery and on the rear facing vertical fibreglass panel was where the remains were found. You may still have the screw holes in the fibreglass.
A look in the Parts Book often shows the mounting locations. I’ve misplaced mine at the moment so can’t tell you if you should look there.
Regards
Alan,
I also dont really have a good photo of a strap fitted, well not one that would mean anything much to anyone else but it does jog my memory enough.
It was fitted, on my '71 S130, to the right rear exhaust heatshield bolt.
The picture sort of shows the position of it but not very well, the remnants of the exhaust mount bobbins being on the forward end of the exhaust hump.
Cheers,
Simon
thanks for the photo simon. It seems the bolts that hold the heatsheild also hold the straps in place. This is in true Chapman tradition that everthing must do at least 2 jobs. I just need to find an original +2 jack now. The straps can be attached waiting for the day i find a jack. You never know “Plastic pigs” ( a name my work mates gave to my Lotus ) might fly one day
