Hi can anyone give me a company ref number of a good quality oil filter for the elan EG Fram champion or man.

Your local parts supplier can probably supply if you know whether its a spin off or not, stock item for various Fords. Dan has also given you the part numbers you need, try here

I am using Mahle’s OC21, simply because that’s what the engine builder (promotor) fitted during build, so I’ll stick with that one.
