Elan +2 Manual:
Amend the Workshop Manuals, Section ‘F’ (Gearbox), Front Cover - ascertaining the correct bearings- On page 49 of Section V, paragraph 29, delete the line ‘Compressed gasket = .20 mm’ and insert in its place:
- Measure the uncompressed new gasket thickness = C
- Size of spacer required = A+B+C
Elite Manual:
- On page 11 of ‘Gearbox’, under the heading ‘To Replace’ delete lines ‘c’ and V and add in their place:
- Measure the uncompressed new gasket thickness = C
- Shim thickness required is H=C-A. The compression of the gasket on assembly will thus ensure the required bearing ‘nip’ of .05 mm (.002 in)
