I’ve been carrying around a spreadsheet that someone created from the archives at Lotus(1). I’ve finally added the data to the Lotus Elan Registry. It’s searchable and I’ve linked the data back to a car if some of the information matches. The data covers types 26, 36, and 45. It’s sparse in some locations but I thought you’d find it interesting none the less.
If you know where the data came from let me know! If you have more data like this floating around I can add it to what is displayed.
(1) - I’ve unfortunately lost where it came from so the provenance isn’t perfect.
To search the data, select Factory Data at the top of the registry
Someone reads the fine print! It was manufactured as a FHC, type 36, and a previous owner converted it to a DHC. Does that make it a type 45 or is it still a 36?
The Registry should reflect how the car left the factory, so, type 36. If I were in the market for a dhc, I
should be able to get factory information (as much as can be , from the Registry and make an
informed decision on the purchase.
It’s not changed in a number of years so your account should be OK. For some reason AOL and and Yahoo bounce messages on occasion. PM me and I’ll get you setup.
And I figured out where I got the data. It came from an upload to the now defunct website web.archive.org/web/200804030646 … GLOTUS.htm. Unfortunately the docs are no longer available.
The webhost for the Lotus Elan Registry is having a problem sending email to yahoo and aol accounts. If you’ve created an account or requested a password reset in the past few days and have a yahoo or aol account the mail bounced. I have a workaround in place and, fingers crossed, things should work again. Apologies for any inconvenience.
