This rotisserie permits unimpeded access to surfaces of an Elan S1-4 or Sprint body for service, repair, or painting. Designed and constructed by a certified Airframe & Powerplant mechanic, the rotisserie utilizes welded steel armatures that attach to existing body bobbins. The rear armature features index wheel and pin mechanism to lock the body in the desired position at multiple points over the 360 degree rotation. The armatures rotate in nylon bushings that are supported by triangulated wood 2 x 4 structures which are linked by long 2 x 4s to provide additional support.
The rotisserie supported my personal S4 for over four years and greatly eased the restoration process without causing undue stress or distortion to the body.
