My Elan+2 (KSP 75F) is for sale by auction on 19th July,
I originally bought the car in 2014 .. selling it in 2017 (see forum) only to buy it back in 2023 cos i missed it !
Since buying to back i have had break overhauled, new Servo, new stainless transverse back box, twin fan Alu rad (Coolex) + hoses, K&N filters .. serviced (engine, gearbox and diff oil + greased) .. carbs setup and much much more.
I have spent quite a bit getting it to where i wanted it to be .. It comes with a 200+ page file of invoices as well as a file of old MoTs etc etc, all going back to the 80’s. It also comes with details of all owners back to delivery in '68.
I have been using it to drive from Battersea to Mayfair most days.
Happy to answer any questions ahead of the same - am keen for it to go to a good home !
I note, rcourtney, that you find this place to tell us of your car for sale at auction. Why did you not offer your car for sale here first?
What would be the benefit of buying your car at auction? None that I can think of. The buyer will pay more, with the auction house’ ridiculous fees for doing what exactly?, the buyer cannot drive the car, the buyer cannot talk to the seller, the buyer can barely inspect the car. What comebacks are there if it all goes Pete Tong? Again, virtually none.
And you, as the seller, will receive less, once fees are deducted. You could have set the price you wanted here and paid no fees. People at the auction are hardly going to bid it up to way over what the car is worth, are they?
Food for thought, but my advice is, never buy a car at auction unless it is very special, and most defineately not a Lotus.
I’m keen to sell the car - Historics have been great so far.
I am more than happy to sell pre auction if anyone is keen.
Any inspection etc welcome .. similarly if anyone is planning to bid and wants to contact me and discuss, inspect and drive the car they are more than welcome.
As I said - I’m keen for the car to find a good home!
