most cars fitted with oil coolers seem to locate them approx. 1/2 way between radiator and grille without any apparent ducting to/from the cooler matrix.
Mocal’s installation ‘manual’ would seem to suggest this is very inefficient and locating hard up against the face of the radiator is preferable.
Does anyone have any comments/experience of this? are Mocal being overly pessimistic/conservative in their advise? all comments greatfully received
Mine is mounted a couple of inches in front of the radiator. Seems to work fine there.
I guess mounting onto face of radiator ensures air is forced through as the radiator is sealed so air cant by pass. May be needed if need lots of oil cooling but the Elan does not need much
