Sigh, what does one do with these hoarders who live in a cardboard box in a hanger and spend all their money on Lotus cars.

Why do you need a house when you have a garage?
A pal of ours, who is very comfortably off, has built a large garage under his house for his significant number of old cars and wondered what to call it. Hes reluctantly settled on "museum" but that doesnt seem right as they, mostly, don`t just sit there. Musing on it, even the word “collection”, to describe the cars sounds a bit stuffy. I thought maybe, “selection” then I had a better idea; “confection”. He can then call the garage a “confectionary”. Perfect.

Picked up the car after having it spend some time at Nanolex Care Care in Knutsford aka Cheshire Auto Detailing. What a stunning job they did too…highly recommended! Even the 41 year old tonneau cover looks brand new… ![]()
Looks amazing!
I just added a new friend to the Elan, the RS4. Almost 3 times the power, but more than twice as heavy. Lovely car though.
Been so busy house renovating that I had not been out for a ride in OGU yet this year. Went out today though for a spin and a steak. All was well except that I had to pump up one tyre first.
Did 250 miles today, went across the North Pennines up to Bamburgh and back. The car never missed a beat.
After Engine and gearbox being out for new GB bearings, the diff out for overhaul and new output shafts I bolted it all back together, got in it and drove 400 miles from South of Rouen via Dieppe and Newhaven to Manchester in a day and it never missed a beat.
I love my Lotus
