Let the pictures do the talking

The ex-Sean Walker Gold Bug replica in action at Donington yesterday and looking good!

Ullapool in Sutherland (far North of Scotland) the other week; the last thing I expected to see was an Elan!

Driven up from Yorkshire that day.

Club Lotus day at Castle Combe onboard Elan youtube.com/watch?v=Vd_33hNHuOY

Rear inner wheel bearing, generic 411546, used by Ford, parts bin raided by Lotus.

June CLOG meeting; a good turn-out but some members preferred to arrive in BMWs!

California Dreaming…December at the beach.

Finished at last after two years.

Finished the engine compartment, will start her up next weekend

Black Mountain classic tour Wales.

My completed chassis, drive train and engine rebuild next to my friend Bruce’s S2

Heh, Heh. I just posted your picture on a comedy forum and labelled it “A naked Elan next to a fully clothed one” and the moderator commentated:

“That’s Car Porn”

What do do you think?
Possible new project, 1300, with 48000 miles, near perfect, no rust.

Maybe BDA, Alloy arches, RS1800 clone, round headlights… even Gp4 car…or leave as is
James

James I can see the temptation but surely someone has lovingly preserved that for 40 years leave it as it is.

L.O.T.U.S.but not this time, justa leaky sump gasket :frowning:

or a lotus

‘Or a Lotus’

Yeah, but I already have one of those! If your talking about a Lotus Twin Cam engine, then no again!
Great in a 1967 to 1970 MK1 escort, but not in the MK2
BDA, would be 1st choice,
James

BDG in a Mk2 James! There were a few RS1800 cars at the AVO Nationals a few weeks back. Most were trailer queens which don’t do a lot for me.

My car, which won ‘Best Twincam’ at last year’s show, was sat next to an ex-works Twincam for the day, which won the show this year. It was XOO 243F, the first works rally Escort built, and it came 2nd on it’s debut rally, the 1969 Acropolis, driven by Roger Clark,

A truly awesome machine. Makes my ENO look very plain-Jane!!

Some photos for you, James.

Mark

Both exceptional cars… Don’t sell yours short!
