Hellooo…IM NEW!

Lordbenny (Andy) here…after owning many lightweight kits cars including the Sylva J15 I’ve just sold, a VX220 Vauxhall and many other sporting cars I’ve realised it’s time to get an Elan!

I drive professionally as a press/special operations driver for a major motor manufacturer so get to drive VERY fast but pretty boring new cars every day. I need an analogue car with character, smell, history. Doesn’t have to be the same car that left the factory, it’s can have some patina and I really don’t mind if some of its owners have made some changes, after all, none of us look the same as we did when we were 5!

So, bring it on, I look forward to making your acquaintance!

Lord Benny!
Gosh, pleased to make your acquaintance :face_with_monocle:

I spent a day on Thursday driving my +2 zetec with a couple of standard ish Elan Sprints that ran very well on flowing A roads in Essex & Cambridgeshire , 130 bhp or thereabouts is probably more than adequate for a road going Elan. The +2 needs a bit more pep in my humble opinion hence the 180bhp zetec in mine.

Good luck finding something you like, lots of good advice on here, just ask.

My last car was a Sylva J15 (170bhp and 550kgs!!!) it was the best handling and fastest ‘real world/B road’ car I’ve ever driven!

I want to slow down a bit but still have an analogue, lightweight car that I can cherish.

My Sylva…

An Elan will fit the bill nicely! Lightweight, analogue, characterful.
