Head thickness dimensions

hi all

I am about to rebuild me stromberg engine and I have 2 stromberg heads:

one is a big valve head with a thickness of 117.65 mm.
is that the original thickness, if not what was the original thickness?

Teh other stromberg head is a small valve with a thickness of 118.30 mm

The big valve was used on the car with stromberg carbs.

The new engine will use Mikuni’s. I prefer to re-use the big valve head but want to make sure the head thickness is still ok?

I believe a standard head is 4.64" (117.86mm) with the factory big valve at 4.60" (116.84mm).
So both of your head dimensions seem odd to me. Perhaps the “big valve” is a standard head that has had larger valves installed? And the Stromberg head is thicker than standard?!
