Price drop, bump ttt

Would you take $475 and I will pay for shipping?

Oh sorry, will not work for me.

I don’t mean to be stupid (really), but is it my imagination or are there only three complete drive pin holes on the backside of the wheel, and is this enough to do the job?

If you look closely you can see that the other pins have a space to sit within the large grooves. I think it is quite common on wheels like this that some of the pins are not fully encapsulated

Well thanks for that. I guess it is true that you learn something every day. And if my Elan was a bit farther along…

Some Panasport wheels have voids, where only one drive pin can be engaged. Bolt on wheels do not have the same problem Used Panasport wheels for years when I was still racing.

On my Panasport wheels, 3 pins engage the holes in the wheel and fit firmly. It takes a fist or a K/O hammer on the back of the tire to remove the wheel once jacked off the ground. Not to start an argument, but the 220 lbs/ft of torque on the K/O keeps the tension stretch on the hub and holds by friction. In addition, the mating face of the wheel is slightly concave to ensure good contact against the hub face. Most single nut hubs for formula cars and sports racers have this feature.

Without the friction hold, the pins will wallow out the holes in the wheel and eventually loosen on the hub with predictable results.
