Other than mounting holes in the body work, is there any other way to identify if a Plus 2 was fitted from factory with a brake servo?
My 68 doesn’t have one but I’m not sure what to look for if it had one originally and it’s been removed.

I am pretty sure that servo is standard on all +2.
There should be some holes where the mounting backet went on the sloping surface on the LH side of the engine bay infront of the radiator.

Thanks for the photo Jono that’s perfect.
As mines been altered a bit by previous owners there’s many holes and bits missimg all over the place.
Could I kindly ask for a few more shots from in and around your engine bay so I can compare it to mine? Will probably save me from asking questions over and again on the forum if I have a fairly original to compare too.
Mine was also red from factory but PO has painted it the Lotus Sky Blue colour.
That was what I thought also. While not exactly definitive the parts manual:
rdent.com/manuals/plus2/brakes/je.htm
lists servo(s) for all +2 variants.
So yes, it looks like I did have a servo there, but at some point it’s been removed and the “gorgeous”… VW window washer bottle has been installed.
Thanks all for the assist.
Richard
Thanks Tony and everyone else, I’ll use those measurements to double check the hole spacing on the inner guard to confirm that it was where the servo was mounted.
Mine was the same so I had it rebored and rebuilt with a stainless steel liner back to standard bore size which is the only way in my opinion. Just fitting seals and making it externally look nice as most rebuilders do to a 50 year old servo seemed a no-no to me. Now 4years on still very happy with the servo.

On eBay - just what you need, apart from the servo itself and pipework !
