Elans were leading until the last 5 mins of a 2 hour race when a botched pit stop meant the lead Elan had to come back into the pits to serve a penalty. We were robbed! Elans 2 and 3 though.

Lotus Elan +2 production line. More than 1,000 +2s were made in the first year of production - a Lotus record according to a press release in 1968. The photo was included.

These photos are a real find. Tell me Tim, what is the unusual colour of the Elan shown closest to the photo? Many thanks, Andrew
I would guess it is Medici Blue.
However, the colours in the photo appear to have faded a wee bit over time, so what would have appeared a more vibrant colour in real life at the time now bears little relationship to the image colour.
