Elan photographs

To be fair, that was in the initial posting which 140 posts /15 months ago…

Guilty as charged :flushed_face:but I am shamelessly promoting the hart classics show which is for charity (Hants and Isle of Wight air ambulance).
I’ll post up some other elan pics in a moment

Here we go!

Here is my mate Dave in his Sprint giving me a cheery wave:

Next the IWR Elan at Donnington in 2011:

A handsome pair - Plus 2 and Sprint at Donnington 2011

S1 Elan from 2019 - beautiful clean lines:

And a pic from back in the day of an S4 Coupe my brother in law restored for a good mate of mine:

There we go - none of my cars and I hope everyone enjoys them but don’t forget the Hart Classics show on June 21st - separate thread running in the General Lotus Discussions!

I thought it was a bit of a shame that this picture was so faded so I did a quick colour correction to see how it came out. A lot of the blues were completely lost, so this is as good as I can do. You may or may not prefer it to the original.

Nice pics.Gone are the days you could leave your elan outside on the road
wouldn’t dare do that now.

Hi, thanks for playing about with the photo. It’s not quite right, everything looks better but the car, it did not capture its colour properly, I suppose there’s only so much you can achieve.

This photo is when I took it to the Isle of Wight circa 83/4

The cars undergoing a restoration/rebuild and currently looks like this.

Thanks for trying.

And now for something completely different………….

From my weird and wonderful Lotus file.

Is it me or is there something ‘fishy’ about that picture. :upside_down_face:

No, the car does exist. Saw it a couple of years ago in the UK.

No AI needed! Cobra-ish front end with a std Plus2 rear… I quite like it & admire the quality of the work.

Sigh, another joke bombs.

Oh wow, it looks orange in that photo. Mind you, that photo looks overly red too. What was the actual original colour?

It’s a Lotus colour of the day, it’s called Bahama yellow but is in fact orange.

Circa 1985

And this is my friends car who has owned his car from new. It’s a real 70s colour!

The more I see that colour, the more I like it.

Bahama Yellow methinks… a very retro colour now

I say the color is Colorado Orange.

It’s not Colorado orange!

That’s a lovely colour! This is where AI comes in useful, before it takes over the world and eliminates us anyhow.

Maybe a little oversaturated and a bit artificial, but it’s better than I could do manually.

Ok, last try!

I think that’s pretty good.
