Dellorto throttle shaft screws - peen or not to peen

Hi all.

I tried crimping the ends of the throttle shaft screws that hold the butterfly valves in place, but it doesn’t seem to have worked. I used a pair of long nose pliers, but they just seem to have crushed the ends of the screws. I was trying to get the ends flattened a bit, so that the screws would not come out.

I have loctite, and am wondering if that might be an easier way forwards for me.

What have you used for your carbs - which loctite, and if no loctite, what did you do to the ends of the screws to stop them coming out?

Thanks.

Sean.

I always just use Loctite threadlock, never had any come adrift in 40 years.

Ok thanks. I’ll just use loctite then.

Sean.
