Peter,
My post was very tongue in cheek! Please forgive me for seeming tetchy
Sometimes the things we do for our hobby and most favourite automotive marque seems to be a thankless task. Getting up at 6am to battle with Rush hour M25 traffic to sit around in a pub car park for hours on end with just the reward of a Tesco?s sandwich and a can of Coke is not my idea of the glamour of owning a Lotus Elan.
The Eleven article was very good, and I enjoyed reading about it, the Absolute Lotus magazine as a whole is a very good effort for a single marque publication.
Hello Spyyder fan, I can understand your pain. We have done many things for no reward in the name of Lotus, but that is the way it is and if we didn’t love it, we wouldn’t do it.
I know the moment my car is finished, it will face terrible scrutiny on it’s appearance and I imagine, I will not be the only one fearing this. The cars in the magazine were presented very well and I think that you were a lucky man to have your car right in the foreground. Keep a copy of the mag with the car, it’s a good thing to show people!
Here are some photos of my little beauty in it’s current state.
Well, for my part I laugh in the face of scrutiny of my car’s appearance, and tweak the nose of the spindly killer fish - I mean, “the provenance brigade”.
The cars are for driving. You’ll have great fun, Peter.
Alan, I couldn’t agree with you more; it was a tremendous article and I loved reading it. In fact, it made want a Lotus IX and I had not considered them before.
The loop is great, featured on many motoring videos.
We shall, however, be doing The Loud, a new and exciting variation.
It is a long way for you. I hear it’s been a bit wet and windy?
I was due to be swimming up a Snowdonian river this weekend just gone, from Barmouth. The weather stopped play. When I do track days at Anglesey it’s about 7 hrs from Eastbourne.
Yeah, we have been going to Eastbourne once a year for some years now, 7 hours is about what it took us.
We are only 15 miles from Barmouth, tell me the next time you are coming up and we could meet up. Any Lotus owner is welcome to see our project.
Best regards, P
Does anyone know what app they use for the digital subscription on Android? Any thoughts if the app/digital is any good or it just better to pay for the printed version?
They use their own app, called Absolute Lotus.
Quality is good. I would prefer print also, but “overseas” delivery is expensive (GB 25£, EU 37£, row 60£)
Spent last Thursday morning at a photoshoot for my car for an article in the next issue followed by an extensive interview. Started at 6am when it was minus 4 degrees C, I had trouble getting the ice of the car from trailering it to the shoot location.
Looking forward to how it turns out, hopefully I did not talk too much rubbish.
