For Members selling self-created products as individuals -Rules and Guidelines.
We have members who have created new products and tools to help out Elan owners. We want to support these cottage industry efforts. This forum is for you to sell your products.
Some general guidelines that separate DIY members and businesses.
- Product catalog is 1 to 3 parts.
- Products are individually made or assembled in small batches
- Activity is run out of your residence
- Activity is more of a labor of love to the Lotus Community and provides enough money to buy a pint occasionally.
Post Requirements
- Define what the product is and how it will help an Elan owner
- List upfront what the product costs
- List how the product will be shipped and estimated costs (weight/box size)
- Is the product ready to ship or is it waiting to be built. (estimated time to receive the product)
- Provide pictures of the product and how it is used.
Rules
- All negotiations must be done by Private Message or Email.
- Businesses may not post ads unless they are Sponsors of this site.
- We reserve the right to remove any ad for any reason.
- You are using this system at your own risk.
- All DIY parts/tools must be related to Lotus Elan.
- LotusElan.net does not represent or sponsor the products placed on our system or the people who put those ads.
- Please include the location so people understand potential shipping costs.
Fees
- You must be an active participating member of the LotusElan.net community to post ads!
- Participating contributors are those members who have been on the forum for over 3 months and have more than 30 posts.
- If you don’t meet these requirements, you can still advertise by paying $10.00 for placing your DIY product/tool. Place your ad and click the donate button at the bottom of the board. In the notes section, indicate payment for classified.
Things to Remember
- There is no guarantee that buyers or sellers are legitimate.
- If you are concerned about the reputation or honesty of a seller, it is your responsibility to address those concerns before engaging in any transactions.
- LotusElan.net strongly recommends using an escrow service to protect against fraudulent transactions. We know one reputable service: Escrow.com. There may be others as well.
- LotusElan.net does not get involved in disputes between buyers and sellers.
- If you suspect fraudulent activity, you must contact the authorities. LotusElan.net will not do so for you.
- LotusElan.net will not release information about advertisers except to law enforcement authorities. Please do not ask us for addresses, phone numbers, or other information about ads on our system.
- After your item is sold, please reply to your thread indicating that it is sold or contact a moderator to ask them to remove it.
Ads not following the above-listed rules may be removed or relocated without refunds.
