Has anyone had or seen these type of replacement driveshafts? These were on Ebay the other day but I can find nothing about them.
They seem different to most as they replace the output from the diff rather than bolting to the standard parts?

Actually, the diff output shaft does unbolt, if you check the photo carefully.
It is just a replacement for the stock output shaft.
Not sure what brand they are, but look very much like the ones I use.
I think the Dave Bean CV-joint kit replaces the differential output shafts with purpose built and uprated ones.

Yes, I noticed that they unbolt too.
I liked the look of them for the reason that they replaced the standard output shaft and I would rather not bolt a large bit of steel/ally to the output shaft to take the CV. These look neater and stronger.
I’ll take a look at Dave Beans stuff.
Thanks,
Simon
Call the Elan Factory Melbourne Australia. Looks like Steve’s Taylors stuff. I used them now Quality unsupassed.
Hmmm. Just posted this in the Elan forum. Link to the Elan factory elanfactory.com.au/pdf/produ … %20kit.pdf
Wow you guys in the US pay top price for your Lotus parts
The weather may be crap here in the UK but the parts are cheap
With the exchange rate, it dont seem bad. A fan for the rad works out at about ?60.
How much in dollars are twin 45 webbers over there? When I visit next March Im sure I can make room for these in my case?
Doug
Thanks.
?750 is quite steep. But not too bad if you were going to fit uprated output shafts anyway.
Have to have a look when I’m over that way next year.
I have a CV system that was made in the early 70’s by someone in New York state that is a complete replacement - inner and outer shafts, hub and brake disk. It is based on VW parts. Does anyone know anything about this system, who made it and what VW parts are used?
Thanks
Hi,
I bought the same drive shafts from RD Dent in the USA and fitted these just a few days ago on my plus two.
So far I am very happy, they were easy to fit and no more surge in the drive line.
I specially liked the diff output shafts directly bolt onto the cv. no adapterplate necessary
cheers
Robin
