So what does your Elan/Plus2 look like today?

I was standing in the driveway and one of the local AH 3000 owners went by. it was about 5:30 so I decided the weather isn’t getting any better so off I went. just a quick ride and a stop or two. I took these pictures out at the mouth of the harbor.

Did you catch him, Gary? The AH 3000, I mean?

Dave

No photos of how mine looks today, but it’s somewhat dirty ( and smiling inside, like me) after a very brisk run on the local 2 lanes. Just beat the rainstorms.

Weather here was about perfect - so we drove them all this week end -

George

This is my “dry build” of my S3 coupe, I’m hoping to send the body to paint at end of October and am checking and pre assembling all the details prior to paint.

Gary, a picture of your Elan, 7 years ago is what inspired me to go green. Not knowing much about Lotus Elans back then, I had wondered why your coupe had the Elite 14 type door window shape, which I liked.

I went the other way, he was leaving town and I was going for some pictures. I stopped by one of the folks I know on the ride, he had a AH 3000 that I did some wiring work on a couple years ago. It was gone but in it’s place was something that I don’t much appreciate but can understand. Seems the traffic liked to congregate around the Healey and it made his wife uncomfortable. Here is John and his new ride.

Hi Mike

Glad to hear you were enjoying yourself. I guess I have plenty of time for posing now

George

I think you need a white S1, or a S2 if you can’t find the S1 white.

Hi Vern

The Elan is coming along nicely, I remember it from ebay back in 2001 or so when Marc Fuller owned it. That Coupe has had a few owners that couldn’t get it going . Keep up the great work.

Hi Sarto
26/4597 has been back on the road for 14 years after nearly 20 years of being in a terminal coma. A 3 hour dip in the winter Atlantic just does wonders for everything. I am just glad that I wasn’t in for the swim too.

Must have been a crappy day for the rest of the world. Anyone else get out for a drive and some photos.

Gary

Sunday was a very nice day for a drive. Surprising little traffic on the Cape.

Sam

Ahh, the perfect driver that S3!

Gary

Sunday was a gorgeous day for a drive in Connecticut

Mine was confined to the garage this weekend, but I got out today.

Well, this began as a simple respray. Hmm, let’s pull the body to do the job right and fix some issues with the frame. While I’m at it, now’s time to pursue the 5 speed conversion. Might as well rebush the suspension…

Too many ideas, not enough money.

I WILL be ready for LOG in 2012.

Greg Z

Getting ready for hibernation.

Went shopping this morning…

No side repeaters, no orange indicator lenses and black bumpers. Will go and hide in a trench as the purists pass by! Of to Northern Spain next week so it earns its keep.

Its a shame it rained on the way home

I’m sad to report my car has been of the road for 5 years. I got carried away on the restoration, then lacked dedication. I try to plod along and stay at it, but my sons karting always seems to have more urgency.
Hopefull it will be on the road for Christmas…

I love the pictures on this post

James

That’s going to be a cracker…lovely paintwork

Hey bast0n:

Is your other car an Apache helicopter? Nice poster. And what’s the series on your car? It’s got a lovely, clean look to it. No worries from me about being non-traditional.

James - that looks like a fun garage. Good house to grow up in, I’m thinking.

Cheers,

Dave

Greg, nice Sumitomo in that pic. Wish I had a set that looked that good! What’s the body look like?

Famous Frank

Bilcoh Dave - it is an S3 SE with a Sprint plus engine. It is my daily driver and my main hobby. Had it nearly 25 years. The poster/photo was my job.

Don’t you all just think the S3 is the best looking by a country mile…

Retreat back into bunker now to avoid incoming.

Goodnight all,

D
