Sill closing plate fasteners

The sill closing plates at either end of the sills on my plus 2 were originally attached
using small plastic expanding plugs with a slot headed ‘screw’ .

The screw is more like a nail than a screw, but just sufficient to get a screw driver on
and undo.

The same fasteners are also used elsewhere in the car.

Does anyone know if they are still available, and if so, from where?

Regards, Bill

Hi Bill.

have you talked to Steve from The Elan Factory in Victoria?
If he dosn’t carry it he can get usually source them from somewhere or offer a suitable replacement.
Give him a call. He is pretty helpful and knowledgable on Elan’s.

Jason

Thanks, Jason. I am hoping however to get the original part and I do not believe he has them.

I got them used from Sports Car World–supposedly it was sold and to be continued. Additionally, those fasteners were used on the blanking plate with the seal that the steering rod passes through–maybe any breakers would have them from there too. Gordon Sauer
