Folks,
The windows in my Sprint rattle like good’uns is all position sother than fully up, and about an inch from being fully down. Is this just how they are, or will replacing the window seals etc improve things?
Thanks,
James

I replaced the window whiskers that are at the top of door, bottom of the window and that sorted things out for me. I’m in the US, so got the whiskers and the clips from Dave Bean, but I’m sure the suppliers on your side have the same thing. Make sure to get the clips, they will generally be pretty rusty and fall apart on removal, so having new one’s is critical.
To replace them, you need to remove the door panel, window motor and locks, pull the whole frame out of the door through the opening at top, remove clips and old whiskers… takes some time. Dan 70 S4 SE
There are several areas of the door window that may be the cause of your rattles.
The workshop manual shows where little rubber blocks should be affixed to stop the Bowden cable rattling.
The cable itself should not be too slack.
The felt covered metal strips that sit each side of the glass might be too worn.
The ‘Silent Channel’ guides might be worn or just hardened with age.
There is a PDF in the files section (might be a bit out of date now) but will give you some guidance when purchasing the silent channel material.
