I owned this June 1968 +2 reg RAH 606F many years ago when it was Black with Lace sprayed Panels on the Roof . Widened steel Wheels and running on 185 Dunlop SP Sport aqua jet Tyres.
I owned it from about 1977 to1979.
I see on the Vehcle reg Site it still exists it is now Blue.
Woner if it is someone on this site

Alan, you may not believe it but your old +2 is now … a Ford Escort Twin Cam!
It was at Castle Combe in 2019, the last time we were there. Very well executed. Basically you take the +2 chassis, engine and interior and fit the Escort body on top of it. I took some photos.
He is Bill Smith, ex Christopher Neil. His firm is GRP2000. He posted on here and we had a chat about it, see: viewtopic.php?f=50&t=44470

Someone had a better photo of the interior, which I have just found, below.
For interest RAH 400F is the Graham Hill +2.

Hi Tim,
That’s amazing. I saw on the vehicle reg site it was still alive but was only marked Lotus.
When i had it with the Laced sprayed Panels on the roof it was a bit Bling Bling.
Wonder if it’s the same Engine.
It had Corbeau Bucket Seats.
Cheers
Alan
There was another one on Ebay that ended last week, neede a bit of finishing work and an engine :-

Yes i saw that for about £9,000.
So the moulds exist for the Body in grp.

Alan, what are ‘lace sprayed panels?’
I wonder how long the Plus 2 Escort would last doing what the old Twincam Escort was designed to do?!
It was “Custom” paint technique where you used Lace Embrodered cloth as a Stencil spraying over the top. Remove the Lace which then left Stenciled design. Very Bling Bling. Along with the use of Metal Flake paint. The sides of the Roof were like a Fish Scale effect aswell. It was amazing and very special.

Oh - and whilst converting a Lotus Elan into a Ford Escort may be pretty offensive to some I personally think converting any original classic car over to electric is even more offensive!!
