Hi,
I have had a look in the archive and I can’t see a definitive answer.
What is the PCD of the two flanges fitted to a 73 Sprint with a 3:55 diff. Reason is I have a pop shaft for my conversion 5 speed conversion that came from a +2 Elan and it has a PCD for the gearbox yoke of 2&3/4" which is fine, but the rear yolk PCD is 3&1/16". Not pulled my engine and box yet so just checking on advance.
Not sure what the problem may be here, but over time I’ve had 4 diffs, some came with the big flange, some with the small, but I ended up fitting a big flange anyway to suit my propshaft. Burton supply a flange which is drilled for both sizes.
You just need a new collapsible spacer, and torque it up using a simple bearing torque measurement.
Hi Sean,
I’m just checking before I send it off to be modified, as I know there are a few differences. I think I will wait 'till my engine and box are out.
I seem to recall that Pitch Circle Diameter is inappropriate in relation to the flange at the rear of the propshaft since the holes are spaced on a rectangular basis rather than a circle.
