With the old PM system it was easy to see whether a PM that had been sent was still in the outbox or whether it had been read and was therefore sitting in the recipients inbox.
With the new system how do I know if a message that has been sent has a) been delivered and b) has / has not been read?
I like the look of the new forum, it’s fairly easy to navigate around and also find relevant topics but there’s still plenty to learn!
Cheers.

The famous private messages are stuck in the outbox. I received more questions and complaints about that “feature.”
The new system does not have that feature.
The best thing to do is to look at the last time they were online. Click on the person’s avatar. This will show you the last time they were online. They have received it if they have been online since you sent the message.
As a side note, you can now reply to a private message via email. You do not have to come back to the website. Just reply to the email. (There is a 5 to 7-minute delay in getting the emails posted to the system for a reply. And, yes, you can also send attachments and pictures.)
Thanks Jeff. An interesting development being able to reply to PM’s via email. I did notice that I got a notification for the first PM I received in the message chain but the second message (I replied to the PM on here, not through email) I didn’t get an email to let me know.
The system is smart enough to know if you were notified in person. If you were notified in person, it does not clutter your inbox with unnecessary email.
There is also a delay in sending out the email based on recent activity. If you have been in person in the last 15 minutes, it delays sending the email.
