New addition to the family.....

Hi all,
Just wanted top post a few pictures of my S2 Elan which I purchased a few months ago.
The pictures are much better than the actual state of the car hence another restoration project…

Well done Gino, you now qualify as a true addict! The Type 26 is far more different to the Type 36 / 45 than I had imagined, and I’m having a lot of fun finding out what was fitted / when as I am restoring mine.

What are your plans for the car? It looks like it has the wide arches for the 26R, which I think suit the car very well.

Mark

Absolutely right on with the flares. Gino, hope you keep 'em.

VERY NICE —LOOKS LIKE IT MAY HAVE AN INTERESTING COMPETITION HISTORY -may be another long lost 26R???–ED

Aren’t all 26Rs RHD?

ere we go --pop the corn and get a beer or 2 :stuck_out_tongue:

Gino

Looks great, well done.
The guards look like they came off a 26R mould. If you lose the external bonnet clips etc would be great

no I would keep the terry springs —I put inner springs on the under hood attachments and there is lift at the front of the hood at less than 3/4 maximum speed Gino if you find more of the recessed duze fasteners like the THE ONES ON THE HOOD I need two so if I could find the supplier it would be a help --your car is the only other Elan I have seen with them on --------ed

oh, is this a real 26R mod I did not know about (he he he) ROFL

hi Gord —G.F.Y ---- and it aint----- good for you  --ED

Hi all,
Thanks for your nice and encouraging comments.
I’m keeping the 26R arches but have no intention to race it. This is gong to be my enjoyable track day car, steel crank and rods going in, but standard bore size,45 webers etc. Hope the car is back on the road this summer.
Keep you all posted.
Ciao

Gino -----if you email me off line [ so the troglodytes on the site don’t make sport of us ]I can send you pics of my chassis and the factory modifications that may be very similar to yours --there are some stressing and plating’s that are completely different from stock -ed [email protected]

Hey Art —see Gords note from me ----same applies - Oh woe toil and trouble - cauldron boil and cauldron bubble -knowledge here is largely limited to short sighted opinions based on incorrect information and expounded upon by pontificating buffoons --[and you thought it would rhyme]- :astonished: — Gino the troglodytes have arrived as predicted —ed
