Mirror glass falling out

Does anyone know where I can buy the seals that hold the mirror glass in the head?

I have tried Tex but no luck, I don’t really want to buy whole new mirrors and take the seals out

Thanks

Jason

I’ve ‘reglazed’ old rear view mirrors before now where the glass was tatty. I found a few blobs of stategically placed silicon goo inside the mirror worked. Make it a big blob and push the mirror to the position you want and leave overnight to set. Secure - job done.

Elanfan’s suggestion would be even better if you used a polyurethane such as Tiger seal or Sikaflex rather than silicone. Tiger seal is available in white grey and black and would be a permanent repair.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I was a bit dissapointed that the seals do not seem to be available, they are original mirrors that are fine apart from the seals. It seems I will have to buy new mirrors take out the seals and fit them in the old heads, its just a bit of a waste of money. The seals must only be a couple of quid

Thanks anyway

Jason

Hi Jason,
If you PM me I have a pair of mirrors in my garage I was going to throw away. I’m more than happy to take out the seals and send to you - It will be cheaper than sending the mirrors.
