I’m in the process of fitting the lower rear wishbones to my new Spyder chassis. The width of the chassis mounting slot appeared too narrow such that I had to force the bushings in. How tight should the bushings fit into the chassis mounts? Should the bushings rotate freely as they don’t at the moment.
I’d appreciate some advise.
AFAIK, the bushes do not rotate. The inner sleeve is stationary as is the outer, with the rubber allowing for movement. This is why they should be tightened with the car on the ground at its correct ride height.
The bush should squeeze in the gap but still be able to be rotated such that the central cylinder can then be clamped fixed in the gap once the car is at road height
