lotus elan 26r - carlos gaspar

current owner seeks further race history. Delivered in April 1965, the car did 6 races in the uk before going to portugal, were it won the supporting race for the portuguese gp in July. In 1966, Senor Gaspar won the portuguese volocity champion ship in an Alpha Romeo and he subsequently went on to a successful single seater and sports car career. Did he sell the car in 1966, and what was its subsequent history until 1970 does anyone have current contact details for him (he was at 2005 vila real revival meeting) any photographs, contacts, or any information after June 1965 would be very helpful.

Sorry for the late reply

Yes this is the Carlos Gaspar car which can be confirmed by the two air vents on the bonnet
(not easy to see but can just make them out)

The car has been restored and is now owned and raced by Stephen Bond

Hi

My father (Eurico Lopes de Almeida) bought this car from Mr. Gaspar and sent it to Angola where the photo was taken.
After falling down a trailer ,the car became a spider and had a serious crash were the driver, Mr. C?rte Real Pereira, died.
How is it possible to be owned and raced by Stephen Bond in 2005??
From whom did he buy the car? Can you confirm the chassis number?? Because I still have it’s angolan paper’s.

So are you saying Euri, that you still own the TITLE of the car?

And where is the actual car as far as YOU are concerned?

Leslie
