Early Elan Door Glass Finger Lift
Early Elans with manual pull-up door window glass used this style finger lift. It attaches to the glass through a single mounting hole and the lip hooks over the edge of the glass. The lift tab, mounting screw and special nut are made of highly polished stainless steel, and a fiber washer is included to protect the glass.

That looks like the S1 part - but weren’t the S2 parts different?
Paddy
You are correct Paddy. The S2 lift is a cast item almost oval in section, not bent from sheet metal. I think they are made of unobtanium In other words no longer available. Maybe someone on the forum has them or the S1 version is the other choice.
A chap inSeattle USA used to make up the bent metal S1 lift - don,t know the status now. I have a spare set of S2 lifts but unfortunately they are unobtainium from me as well. I preffer them to go with my estate for the future restro prject on the \S2.

My S2 also has the cast “through the glass” lifts - it was made in 1965. I have sort of the same problem and haven’t seen that type of lift anywhere. I’d love to find out where to get some.
In addition, I have a spare right side window with lift attached, but it’s my left side window that needs to be replaced; having the lift on the outside strikes me as being rather useless Does anyone know if these lifts can be removed? I’m stumped.
