Is there anything that people can do to curb wheelspin in Elans? Apart from feathering the throttle One of the things that attracts me to the Zetec conversions for the +2 is the Granada LSD. Its a lot of work for a LSD if that is the answer. Does anything else fit the standard chassis? I was forever spinning a wheel pulling out of side roads in the damp.
quaife atb ( automatic torque biasing )which uses gears and will fit in your standard casing costโs around ?395 +vat ,the only down side to this diff is if you lift a wheel it will / can spin up then when it hits down again it can try to spit your car around , unlike the tran x plate type diff which will also fit in your casing and is around the same price does not spin up but is a bit harsher and noisier which if the plates are set up wrong can produce terminal understeer ,it uses metal clutch type plates that will need replacing every so often depending on milage and use ,for road use i would recomend the quaife atb which is also ok for track use as long as your not kerb hopping ! ,for track use though the tran x plate diff seems to be the choice , i have used both and these are just my views hope this helps ,
Thank you both for your replies. I am really pleased that I can get the problem sorted without too much cost or aggrevation. The quaife solution will do me just fine.
