How does the knob come off the headlight vacuum switch?

I am replacing my dashboard and have hit a snag!

I can’t see how to get the vacuum switch for the headlights off the old dash. I have undone the nut behind the knob, but can’t see how to get the knob off!

Looked in both the Lotus and the Brian Buckland book but without finding anything.

Any suggestions? I am scared I damage the switch as I belive they are hard to get.

If you look closely at that body of the knob- you will see a small button - if you push this in with a small end of a blunt screwdriver and pull the knob at the same time it will come off - safely . It them simply pushes back on and clips into place.

Hi,
I had the same problem years ago when the switch was broken on my windscreen washer plunger and I could not get a direct replacement. Hence my +2 has had an electric washer ever since. It was the update Triumph replacement at the time. I trust that period updates are acceptable.
