Gearleaver Baffle removal/replacement

Has anyone ever removed their gear leaver baffle? It seems to be glued/bonded to the chrome plastic surround. I guess I can cut it out with a razor but am a bit hesitant to do so as I?m not sure how readily available replacements are. Any suggestions?

Also what car are the rear brake pads off?

cheers

Re: Rear brake pads. I believe they are specific to Elan & Elan+2 models with no other applications.

If by baffle you mean the rubber gaitor around the base of the gear stick then it is held in by the chrome plate which is bolted through the centre console.

To remove it you will need to remove the center console then unbolt the retaining plate, the rubber gaitor can then be seperated from the plate.

At least thats how it is on my 68 plus2.

yep thats it. does anyone know where I can get a replacement gaiter as mine has a little tear in it?

Paul Matty list them in their parts list:

This may be a bit off the wall, but I was reading a book on Austin Healeys and noticed a picture that seemed to show an austin healey 3000 with the same rear callipers as the elan. Anyone heard of this?
