Dont do it unless its fireproof. We have banned most types of this stuff where I work due to its properties. Some of the stuff gives off is super toxic when lit, and burns better than fuel. However, some stuff is fire resistant so check carefully.

I have spent most of the week beef-up that area, standing on my head breathing resin fumes.
Question is why do you want to put the foam there?
From sailing experience the foam will trap and hold moisture and rot the steel wire.

I too, at one time was going to use the foam for sound proofing and to make it stronger. I was told what the other members are saying plus if you need to run wires or repair anything-- what a mess! If sound proofing is a goal, try quietsolutions.com and go to the auto section quietcar. Three coats of this paint reduces the DB by 20. I did all of the interior of my coupe, including the trunk. It dries hard and it works. And I still can make fiberglass repair
