I have recently purchased a 1964 S2 in road going trim which I have been chasing for nearly 30 yrs. My question for all you experts out there is how many S2’s were made.
I would guess 1600 ish. The chassis numbers are also used by the S3 fhc in 1965 / 66, so they must account for a few hundred of the numbers.
So, tell us about your car. 30 years is a long time to be chasing one particular car…did you nag the owner every year? You obviously have the tenacity to be an Elan owner 
What’s the colour / spec / condition, and what do you plan for it? Put a few pictures up as well…always a lot of interest in the old S2s.

Hurrah! Another one joins the fraternity. Ross and Robinshaw or (I think) Brian’s excellent missive give numbers at about 1,200-1,300. Most of them seem to be on here somewhere!!
