The next step in my Elan S2 assembly. I finally get to a stage where I can fit the doors .
This is the first of two parts as the video was getting rather too long.

Nice Video, Paul. Will have to go through that soon. There are two little rubber sheets / plates about 1/2 in square, glued on the window lock lever notches landing area - so they don’t bang on the chrome channel

Paul,
Maybe I missed it or maybe you are going to remove the door again but I did not see you fit the door buffer (excuse for a check strap)
You will find it difficult to glue them on after the doors are fitted, incase you do not know they consist of a section of sponge rubber glued in the door aperture. This thread contains some details.

You didn’t miss it because I didn’t know they existed
Maybe the doors will have to come off to fit it.
Found the pieces of foam. I have no recollection of taking these off, mind you it was nearly 30 years ago
I was wondering what they were used for.
They measure 14" x 2" x 1 1/2"
