Hi
I am trying to fit a new set of door seals to my car and as a result of my car having the Gel Coat and paint finish application the fibreglass upstand along the running boards ( sill ) are much thicker and would like some d some advise where I can get wider gripping door seals without compromising on door seal width as both my doors have been ‘doctored’ during the respray so the doors fit flush- in the appropriate way.
(I have photos if anyone would like this info- undertaken by Options I )
I need the contact of a supplier who is able to supply wider trim grips- anyone used ‘woolies’ to solve this issue?.
Thanks in advance
Nico
Can you please post pictures and description of the door doctoring process. Thanks. Dan '70 S4 SE (with turned out door)
the standard type of door seals should "hammer"home ok, use a rubber(thor type) mallet and some silicone spray lubricant on the back. I had the same problem after repairing the seal mounting flange on my door apertures. I got my seals from CN by the way.

Nico…The replacement seal that can be purchased now is a little thicker than the original (different profile) and it’s very difficult to get the door to sit / shut properly. This of course will only compound your problem. Have you tried clipping back the pile of the carpet where the seal goes over, just to make the whole as thin as possible?
Option One must have fitted up the doors after painting, and to do that job properly the doors must be loaded with their full weight, and the seals must be in place…otherwise how could they tell it all alligned?
I would contact them if you have no further luck.
