Hi all, need to lift the doors on the Plus 2 a bit as the chrome window edging is hitting of the bodywork! What is the easiest (if that is possible on a Lotus!) to adjust it. The bottom hinge looks a knightmare to get into. I slackened off the top hinge and lifted it last night but it didn’t make much difference. there seems to be a bit of movement beside the top hinge on the door. I also need a check strap for the drivers side as the small palstic part is missing, anyone got any spare or does anyone supply them?
Thanks, Alasdair

What is the betting your bushes are knackered?( they are the same as the front trunnions) and if you have access to a lathe ,slightly longer ones can be made up to give you a little longer between wear,is this the drivers door? They’re usually the first to go…

Thanks for the heads up John, the car hasn’t done many miles since restoration so hopefully not. I will see how much sag I have!

Just re-read your post, the top and bottom hinges are accessed the same way with the same ease?,via the holes in the footwell, just slacken them both off, position the door (i used cardboard wedges to hold it in place with a clearance, then tighten…
I was assuming you had up/down movement in the doors (worn bushes)
John
Excellent John, will give it a go! I don’t want to loose any more of my nicely sparkly gelcoat!
