Having long boasted no flat-spots, my engine seems to be steadily developing the habit of bogging if I apply too much throttle at low RPM. (Not that I make a habit of it - I dont expect the twin-cam to pull like a tractor). It is now time to sort this out.
Perhaps the jets - especially the accelerator ones - need cleaning. They look “ok” but have some whitish deposits like lime on the them.
Is this likely to be the problem?
What is the best way to clean them?
Should I use one of the carb-cleaner fuel additives? I have used these on American injected engines very successfully.
Any other suggestions?
I have a bigvalve in good order with webers. Ignition, timing etc are all good.
Thanks and best regards, iain
