There are four holes in the bulkhead over the passenger (left side) footwell of my S3 Elan. The top hole is for the wiring loom, the second one down mystifies me, and the third and fourth are heater control cable and heater hose respectively. Can anyone tell me the purpose of the unidentified hole?
Regards,
John Larkin.
Hi John
This is a drawing I did a few years ago for an S4 LHD Elan. I am not sure about the Speedo cable routing on a RHD.
Gary
You have done it again Gary! You have sorted me out.
When I stripped the car I made no record of what that hole was used for. It’s clear from your drawing that it was for the oil pressure feed line. Some years ago I had the oil feed line upgraded to an Aeroquip hose and the mechanic ran it through the speedo cable hole on the right side of the car, and I had assumed that he had copied the factory route for that pipe. Now I know better.
Best wishes to you and Beauregard.
Yours sincerely,
John.
Can anyone tell me what these holes are for?
I know the larger one is for the Water capillary but i don’t know what the smaller one to the right of the bonnet catch is for? and there is a matching one on the other side in the same place? Any idea’s?
BTW its a rhd S4
